# Grocery List & Price Optimizer

Visita's Grocery List is a free tool for residents to build shopping lists and find the cheapest stores. As a business owner, here's how it works — and how you benefit.

## How Residents Use It

1. **Build a list** — Search 17,000+ products and add items with quantities
2. **Optimize** — Visita finds the cheapest combination of stores for their entire list
3. **Shop** — Get a store-by-store breakdown with exact prices

The optimizer checks **both** major retailers (PnP, Checkers) and **local businesses** that have listed prices on Visita.

## How Your Business Benefits

When you set competitive prices via the [Pricing Dashboard](/business/pricing), your store appears in the optimizer results with a **"Shop Local"** badge.

### Example Store Breakdown

A resident's optimized grocery list might look like:

## Price Alerts

Residents can set price alerts on specific products. When your price (or any price) drops below their target, they get notified. This drives traffic to the cheapest source — which could be you.

## Payday Grocery Digest

Every month on the **25th**, Visita sends registered users a personalized grocery email featuring:

* Updated prices on their saved items
* New deals and specials
* **Your business**, if you're competitive on any of their items

This is free marketing delivered directly to local shoppers' inboxes.
