# Crime & Safety Intelligence

Ward-level crime mapping, SAPS statistics, and AI-powered safety analysis — so communities know what's actually happening in their area.

## Safety Dashboard

Every ward on Visita has a **Safety Tab** showing:

* **Recent incidents** — Community-reported and SAPS-sourced events mapped to exact locations
* **Crime trends** — Month-over-month comparisons for your ward
* **Category breakdown** — Burglary, assault, vehicle theft, etc.
* **Hotspot map** — PostGIS-powered heatmap of incident density

## Nexus Radar

The **Nexus Radar** is Visita's automated Conflict of Interest detector, purpose-built for civic accountability.

### How It Works

1. **Cross-references** government officials database against business director registers
2. **Detects** hidden relationships (shared addresses, directorships, family links)
3. **Scores** severity from informational to critical
4. **Publishes** findings on a transparency dashboard

### What It Catches

* A councillor who is also a director at a company winning municipal tenders
* Officials with undeclared business interests in their ward
* Patterns of contract awards to connected entities
