The Ward Insights Dashboard (Councillor View) is a dedicated operational hub for elected officials to monitor their ward’s performance, sentiment, and critical infrastructure health.

Overview

Accessible at /platform/councillor, the dashboard aggregates several data streams into actionable visualizations:

1. Signal Resolution Velocity

Track how quickly signals are being resolved across the ward. This chart compares “Signals Opened” vs “Signals Resolved” over the last 30 days, helping officials identify bottlenecks in service delivery.

2. Ward Sentiment (AI Analysis)

An AI-powered qualitative summary of the “Mood of the Ward”. By analyzing recent Discussions and Signal reports, VisitaAI provides a concise “Briefing” on what residents are most concerned about this week.

3. Sentinel Heatmap

A geographic visualization of safety and service risks. High-priority hotspots (based on heat_score) are clustered to show where urgent intervention or law enforcement presence might be needed. Measures “Proof of Effort” and community participation. This tracked metric shows ledger activity (Project Pledges, Votes Cast, Signal Reports) to reveal if the ward is becoming more or less active in its own maintenance.

Access Control

The dashboard is strictly role-gated. Only users with the councillor role (set in public.profiles.app_role) can access the /platform/councillor route.

  • Review Escalations: Identify signals that have been escalated to the Municipality but remain unresolved.
  • Pulse Check: Use the Sentiment Analysis to prepare for ward committee meetings.
  • Resource Allocation: Use the Heatmap to decide where community projects or municipal budget should be prioritized.
